This takes colour photos of the retina and optic nerve to monitor conditions like diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma. Again all data is stored in our servers. Taking retinal pictures is a very useful baseline in recording the status of the optic nerve in glaucoma, the macula in age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy and the retinal vessels which can be affected by hypertension and other vascular abnormalities. Indeed, the retina is the only part of the body in which the blood vessels can be directly observed and photographed.
